Sunday morning....

As usually the kids woke up VERY early yeasterday morning. It was freezing cold but nice and dry weather so I thought it would be a good idea to go out for a long walk. First we went to a place called Svartsengi and tried to side down the hills but it didn't work very well.

Then we decided to go for a walk in the great Icelandic forrest. The kids were running around, having fun. For a while I thought I had lost the kids in the woods but....

Then I could spot Sigurbjörg in the red coat. It was much harder to find Eyjólfur as he was wearing his camoflash coat.

I got a photo of them in the middle of the forrest. See if you can spot them...

Then the kids found a christmas tree for us. With twin top so they could both put stars on the top.

However, I didn't like it. So we are sticking to our tall, green, artificial tree once again :-)

Best wishes from Iceland,

The Wicked Witch of the South-West

Here in Iceland we don't do anything special for Halloween. So I think I am the only person here in Grindavik that puts up some decorations... I have the skeletons hanging in the living room, ghosts and bats all over the place and am having a family party in the weekend. Grindavik is not a big town (only about 2700 people live here) so it takes very little to get people talking about you. I guess from here on I will be known as "the Witch". Well I don't mind being a witch, at least it is a change from being "the Bitch"...

Some of my UK friends have contacted me to ask if I am OK - refering to the finacial situation here. All I can say is... Thanks to you all for your concern. Ofcourse it is very bad for some families as hundreds of people are loosing their jobs, many have lost their live savings ect. but in my case... I'm fine. I had no money therefore I had no money to loose :-). But I have my job, my health, my healty kids, my family and friends plus I live in the best place ever...

We have the most beautiful girls in the world.

We have the strongest men in the world

And.....

This is Grindavík

It may be cold. It may have a dead currency. It may have the darkest nights.

BUT...

At the moment I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

Chao....

Aurora Borealis

I am sure some of my friends from UK would love to have the view that I have from my house. Last week when it was "slightly" colder then it is today I went out in the evening and when I opend the door THIS is what I saw.

My dad(Eyjolfur Vilbergsson) went out with his camera and took loads of photos. It was amazing. This was like a great show with disco lights. They were all green this time. Just after I moved here in March there was one evening like this but then they were all pink. I think that was just for me. Like some kind of welcome home show. But as every one knows PINK is my colour... I have to dig up some photos from that night to show you as well.

But here come more photos.

Until next time... Have a nice one...

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow....

Yes it is already snow here in Grindavik. Very nice and christmasy. The only problem is that I just want to stay at home and get ready for christmas. Maybe I should just go for it and start decorating this weekend LOL that would shock everyone. Then people would have something to talk about...again... I am a popular subject for the local gossip and it doesn't bother me at all. Most of the time I have earned it... but thats just me... Any way I put some snow photos here just for Claire.

The kids have been SO homesick for Swinton this past week. They are always talking about visiting Deans... I wish we could come for short visit. They got a letter from Amy and family today, perfect timing for that letter to arrive.

But Rachael sent me a text few days ago and said she was going to send me e-mail... Rachael... I´m still waiting :-)

Well, C U L8ER...
